The Nextorch "OPERATOR" end cap switch has 5 different positions.
The positions on the ring switch are assigned as follows: TAC - press lightly 1600 lumens - push through 1600 lumens Strobe function
Pos1 - 15 lumens + tail switch lightly pressed 1600 lumens / pressed through 1600 lumens strobe function
Pos2 - 160 lumens + tail switch lightly pressed 1600 lumens / pressed through 1600 lumens strobe function
Pos3 - 1600 lumen + tail switch slightly pressed 1600 lumen / pressed through 1600 lumen strobe function
Indoor - 300 lumen via rear switch (slightly pressed) + pressed through 1600 lumen strobe function
Why the indoor function?
Quite simply, many emergency services have criticised the fact that in access scenarios, e.g. in flats, the risk of glare from your own torch is very high - there is often a white wall, or worse: a mirror, a short distance directly behind an entrance door! The reflection there and the associated risk of glare repeatedly puts emergency services in confusing situations.
If the situation requires it and you need to confuse the perpetrator immediately with the strobe flash, all you need to do is press the rear switch hard and the 1600 ANSI lumens will flash.
The tactical tail switch has two levels: In the first stage (pressed lightly) it provides 1600 lumens of instantaneous light and, when fully pressed, 1600 lumens of strobe flash light.
